What I Read In Sweden

On the picture is the incredible northern light I saw when I was in Sweden last week. Besides working (which was the reason I was there) and looking at the beautiful things nature provides way up north (Autumn really is the best time to go there), I did a lot of reading.

I finished First Man In Rome by Colleen McCullough. Dang, but that woman can write! She kept me riveted for almost 900 pages. I also read the first book of Susan Wittig Albert’s new Depression Era series, The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree. A very different style than I am used to from her, but after a chapter or two of getting used to it, I was hooked. Last, but certainly not least, I finished The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran. While I didn’t think it could compete with Moran’s first novel Nefertiti, it was nonetheless a very good book.

Reviews of all of these books are to come this week. Be prepared to see some wicked good reviews!

Fall Into Reading 2010

This fun, no pressure challenge from Katrina over at Callapider Days is just what I need to keep my reading on track. Basically you make a list of books you want to read between today, September 22, and December 22. Need to change your list on the way? Haven't read everything on the list by December 22? No worries! The only requirement to this challenge is to have fun!

So, I present to you: my list!
